I really liked the "prelude" to this weeks episode.

Despite a "4 minute Warning lurking in the isles, scented flowers were floating dreamily upstream and youth were on a now faded, Magic Carpet Ride.

Thanks, Anthony. Yes, it was a genuine Dreamtime. But real and valuable for all that. Pity so much of it has been lost since. Any real confidence in the future for a start, sadly.

Like Alison, just catching up. The energy reminded me of The Commitments, the film of which I watched again recently. Full of hope, nerves and confidence. Go Tommy!

Thanks, Tom. Not seen this film and will check it out. Hope, nerves and confidence was all around us back then. Tommy certainly needs it. Has to keep picking himself and starting all over again. And he's managing... so far, at least.

Wow - we're on a roller coaster! Being tied up the last week or so, I read this chapter and the last as a oner. I'm breathless. Poor Tommy at Bells .... what a lost opportunity.

Thanks, Alison, and for the roller coaster remark. I remember that afternoon in Bell's Music (name changed, of course). I was so impressed by how the publisher really tried to help me and play the tape. He was a very busy man! Still Tommy has other publishers still to try!
